Felix leads SP track with 3-1st place finishes

The South Panola track and field team journeyed to Tupelo to participate in the district meet Tuesday and Thursday.
Those who finished in the first round places earned a trip to the regional Saturday at either Tupelo or Desoto Central.
Chris Felix advanced to the regional round. He placed first in three events, 100 meter dash with a time of 11.04; the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.20 and the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.92.
Jaterrica Amos advanced in the 100 meter run with a third place finish in 12.99 seconds, third place in the 200 meter dash in 26.21 seconds and fourth place in the 400 meter run in 1:05.03.
Miya Williams finished third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 19.66 seconds while Laquesha Crowder finished third in the 300 meter hurdles in 57.53 seconds.
The 4×100-, 4×200 and 4×800-meter girls teams finished third. The 4×400 meter team finished fourth.
In girls field events, Breanna Johnson placed second in the discus throw with a distance of 72’11”. Cadasia Robinson finished fourth in discus with a distance of 58’10”.
In the boys field events, Nicholas Porter finished second in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 44.72 seconds followed by Trey Mitchell with a time of 46.
All of the relay team advanced with third place finishes in 4×200-meter (1:33.30) and 4×800-meter (9:13.80). Fourth place finishes were run in 4×100-meter (52.92) and 4×400 meter (3:57.80.
In boys field events, Cortavious Campbell finished fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 40’2.5″ and O’Bryan Goodson with a third place finish in shot put with a distance of 42’2″.
