The South Panola High School Air Force Junior ROTC won the Southern United States Regional Championship Rifle Match at Anniston, Ala. last week. Only 28 teams from the competing high schools in 20 states were invited to the championship match. For the third year in a row South Panola won the championship. Four South Panola shooters–Robbie Phillips, Tiya Johnson, Matt Moore, and Blake Barnett–placed in the top eight and qualified for the championship individual finals including Robbie Phillips who placed 3rd overall in the final competition.
The Regional Championship win earned the team an invitation to the World Championship next month.
