Geneva Lee Boyette

POPE––Geneva Lee Boyette, 80, died Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at her residence. She was the widow of Jimmy Boyette.
Services were held Saturday at Wells Funeral Home. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Glen Washington and Rev. Calvin King officiated.
Boyette was born October 25, 1935 to the late Robert Mosby Lee and Leola Parrish Lee. She was a homemaker and was Pentecostal.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Boyette and one son, Jimmy Dale Boyette.
Survivors include: three daughters, Deborah B. Patton of Oakland, Rita B. Locke of Oakland and Jimmie Faye Boyette of Pope; four sons, Randy Wayne Boyette of Crowder, Scotty Newton Boyette of Oakland, Ronald Ray Boyette and Donald Clay Boyette, both of Tunica; two sisters, Ola Mae Washington of Pontotoc and Ophelia King of Oakland; 31 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.

SARDIS––Charles Kenneth Brown, 46, died Friday, December 25, 2015, at his residence.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, December 29, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home.
Brown was born to Sharil Faye Watkins of Sardis and the late Charles Eddie Brown on December 8, 1969, in Memphis.
Survivors along with his mother include: two sisters Candace Anderson of Oakland and Leslie VanPelt of Hernando.
 In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial donations be made in Charles’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.

Christopher Connor Sr.

SARDIS––Christopher Connor Sr., 42, died December 23, 2015, at his residence.
Services were held Sunday at Mt. Gillion M.B. Church in Sardis. Pastor Walter Newson officiated. Burial was in Mt. Gillion M.B. Church Cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary had charge.
Connor, born Aug. 22, 1973, in Sardis, attended South Panola High School and Northwest Community College. He was a fork-lift driver at Kroger. He was a member of Mt. Gillion M.B. Church.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, John Lewis.
Survivors include: his wife, Temeka Hudson Connor of Sardis; his mother, Dorthy Ann Lewis of Batesville; his father, George Gleaton of Pope; three sons, Christopher Connor Jr., Brandon Connor and Justin Connor, all of Sardis; three brothers, Eric Connor Sr. and Micheal Shaw, both of Batesville and Carlton Hentz of Memphis; four sisters, Angelia Lewis of Batesville, Lecretia Gleaton, Tiffany Gleaton Robinson and April Gleaton, all of Pope and one grandchild.

Ernest V. McCoy

MARIETTA, Ga.- Ernest V. McCoy 72, died Monday,  December 21, 2015 at his residence. He was the father of Steven McCoy of Sardis and Katherine Collums of Batesville.
Services were held Saturday at Waters Funeral Home with Clifton Collins officiating.
He was preceded in death by his son, Little Ernie McCoy.
Survivors include: his children, Brenda Tygart of Heber Springs, Ark., Robert McCoy and Daniel McCoy, both of Batesville, Ark., Clifton Collums of Kirkville, James Collums and Clara Hastings of Florida; a host of brothers and sisters; 24 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Thomas Earl McCullar

BATESVILLE––Thomas Earl “Peach Man” McCullar, 68, died Monday, December 28, 2015, at his residence.
Services will be announced at a later date. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
McCullar, born April 9, 1947, in Memphis, to the late Carey Thomas McCullar and Cornelia Franklin McCullar, retired after 30 years from Ford and General Motors in St. Louis, Mo. He was the owner and operator of McCullar Peach Orchard outside of Batesville.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Rogers McCullar of Batesville; four daughters; Lorene Elizabeth Masters of Landenberg, PA, Mary Frances McCullar, TomiAnne Schmidt, and Becky Jane Davenport all of Nashville, Tenn.; one sister, Pamela Martins of Como and  nine grandchildren.

Mary Idell Moore McDonald

Mary Idell Moore McDonald, 88, died December 26, 2015, at Golden Living Center. She was the widow of the late J.B. McDonald.
Graveside services were held Sunday at Center Hill Cemetery near Courtland. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
McDonald, was born February 19, 1927 in Friars Point, to the late Lee Ander and Mandy Christine Ware Moore, was Baptist and formerly worked at Muscle Shoals Rubber in Batesville.
Survivors include: daughter, Jody “Mary” Ann Byars of Batesville; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
