Three SP players to play in All-Star game Sat.

The 67th Bernard Blackwell All Star Football Classic, sponsored by Russell Athletic and Rex Team Sports will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Joseph Milner Stadium, Lindy Callahan Field, in Gulfport, MS, with kickoff scheduled for 11:30 AM.
General admission tickets will be available at the gate for only $10.00 per person with all seats general admission. The game is being played for the seventh consecutive year on the Gulf Coast and the 4th straight year in Gulfport.
    The game will not be televised, however, an internet broadcast of the game will be available through the Friday Night Under the Lights web site at fnutl.com  .Russ Robinson will provide the internet play-by-play of the game with Jake Wimberly serving as color analyst.
The North will be coached by Pat Byrd of Saltillo while the South will be guided by Lance Mancuso of Bassfield.  Each squad consists of 40 players.The game features a North-South format and the South leads the series 32-26-4.  The South defeated the North 48-14 on December 20, 2014, at Joseph Milner Stadium, Lindy Callahan Field in the 66th Annual Classic played in Gulfport.  The Most Valuable Offensive Player for the South was Gardner Minshew of Brandon Jordan Barrett of Laurel was selected as the South’s Most Valuable Defensive Player.  The North’s Most Valuable Offensive Player was Bailey Walker of Lake Cormorant while the North’s Most Valuable Defensive Player was Derion Ford of Starkville.  The Bill Stewart Award winner for the North was Bailey Walker of Lake Cormorant while the South Bill Stewart Award winner was Jonnas Spivey of Bay Springs.
The Bernard Blackwell All Star Football Classic is formerly known as the Mississippi High School All Star Football Game and was originated in 1950 by Mississippi State coach Arthur “Slick” Morton.  The MAC assumed sponsorship of the game from the Jackson Touchdown Club in 1993.  In 1994, the game was renamed for Coach Bernard Blackwell, the late Executive Director of the MAC.
