William James Davis

POPE–William James Davis, age 64, passed away Tuesday evening, November 24, 2015, at his home. Davis, an attorney, was the husband of Patsy Davis. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be made available once they have been finalized. Wells Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Katie Louise Gardner

COMO–Katie Louise Gardner, 76, died November 19, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto. Funeral services will be Saturday at noon at Hunter’s Chapel M.B. Church of Como. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be today from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gardner was a factory worker.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Louis Davis and Elizabeth Black of Como, and Gloria Hardin of Coldwater; three sons, James L. Gardner of Sardis and Robert Gardner and Donnell Gardner of Como; two sisters, Bertha Lee Taylor of Caruthersville, Mo., and Ethel Ruth McGhee of Senatobia; 28 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

MacArthur Presley

COMO–MacArthur Presley, 44, died November 23, 2015 at Merit Health Batesville. Funeral services will be Sunday, November 29 at 2 p.m. at Askew Grove M.B. Church in Como, with burial in the church cemetery. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home has charge. 

Visitation will be Sunday from 1-2 before the service.

Mr. Presley was a farmer.

He is survived by his son, Mac Jarvis J. Presley of Como; one sister, Chris Presley of Como; eight brothers, Jackie Presley, Bobby Presley, Ricky Presely, Tony Presley and Randy Presley, all of Como; Fred Presley Jr. of Memphis, L.D. Presley of Sardis, and Timothy Presley of Marks.
