South Mississippi Electric Power Association Plant Superintendent Hardy Farris III (right) and SMEPA Contracts Administrator who also serves as South Panola School District Board President, Sandra Darby (left) presented a check for $10,000 to be donated to the Foundation for Public Education’s Batesville Elementary School Fire Fund on Thursday. Accepting the check for Batesville Elementary is that school’s principal LaSherry Irby. SMEPA has been friend to the district donating hundreds of thousands annually to the district since purchasing the local power producing facility.
