Townsend plays for Florida summer collegiate team

Following his junior season at Central Arkansas, Chris Townsend of Batesville has been playing in the Florida Collegiate Summer League. Tuesday, he played in the FCSL All-Star game where his team, South won 7-1. Townsend went 2-for-2, with two RBIs and a stolen base. This season he is playing with the Alatamont Springs Boom.
Townsend is listed as second baseman with a .267 batting average. He has played in 18 games with 45 at bats, seven runs, 12 hits, one double, eight RBIs, seven walks, six hit by pitches, 13 strikeouts, two sac-flies and six stolen bases.
