Police searching for Gas Mart thief 5/19/2015

Batesville police are asking for help in identifying and locating a suspect in the Saturday morning theft of cash from Gas Mart on Highway 6 year the Bates Street intersection.
BPD Detective Tommy Crutcher has furnished security photos of a slightly heavy-set black man of moderate-dark complexion with closely cropped hair wearing a gray sweatshirt, khaki pants and black and white tennis shoes who is the suspect in the theft.
Patrolman Will Parrish responded to the complaint and took a statement from a cashier who said that cash was left unattended in an office when the store became busy. When the clerk returned about 9:14 a.m., she found the money missing, according to Parrish’s report.
A surveillance video captured the image of the suspect who concealed the money and drove away in a gray passenger car.
