Pearly Mae Cole
SARDIS–Pearly Mae Cole, 74, died Friday, February 27, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at New Rock Hill M.B. Church in Sardis. Rev. Charles R. Becton will officiate.
Visitation will be held Friday 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Eddie Robison Funeral Home and Saturday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at New Rock Hill M.B. Church in Sardis. Burial will be in Old Rock Hill Cemetery in Sardis. Cole, born Jan. 11, 1941, in Sardis, to the late Green McKinney and Mary Parker McKinney, was a caregiver and member of New Rock Hill M.B. Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Roosevelt Cole of Batesville; two daughters, LaKeitha Cole and Shence Cole, both of Sardis; one son, Darrell Hughery of Sardis; four brothers, Allen McKinney, Joe McKinney and Lawrence McKinney, all of Sardis; Sam McKinney of St. George, S.C.
Charles Ferrell
SARDIS––Charles “Nuck” Ferrell, 57, died Saturday, February, 28, 2015, at his residence.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Spring Hill Asa M.B. Church in Courtland. Pastor Louis Wilson Sr. will officiate. Visitation will be held today from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Burial will be in Springhill Asa Church Cemetery.
Ferrell, born May 5, 1957, in Batesville, to the late Chester Ferrell and Famous Goodrum Ferrell, attended Westside School.
He was a farmer and a member of Spring Hill Asa M.B. Church.
Survivors include: one son, Michael Webster of Sardis; six brothers, Terry Ferrell, Perry Ferrell and Rickey Ferrell, all of Courtland, Tony Ferrell of Cleveland, Ohio, James Ferrell of Sardis, and Willie Gene Ferrell of Woodlee, N.C.; two sisters, Joyce Brown of Memphis and Mary Lois Ferrell Earson of Chicago, and four grandchildren.
Eloise McDaniel
WATER VALLEY––Eloise McDaniel, 81, died Friday, February 27, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
Services were held Monday at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. David Floyd officiated. Burial was in Browning Cemetery.
McDaniel, born September 19, 1933, in Grenada, to the late Ervin and Lily Mae Floyd Schmitz, worked was a cashier for many years at Big Star in Oxford and was a member of the Water Valley Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ray McDaniel.
Survivors include: two daughters, Rita Littlejohn of Blue Springs and Sandra Supple of Oxford; her son, Richard McDaniel of Batesville; her sister, Dot Craven of Grenada; three brothers, Bobby Schmitz and Paul Schmitz of Water Valley and Mike Schmitz of Greenwood; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
James A. “Jim” Morgan
MEMPHIS––James A. “Jim” Morgan, 78, died Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.
Services were held Thursday at Wells Funeral Home. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Morgan, born Sept. 24, 1936, to the late Snead Wesley Morgan and Laura Bell Morgan in Metairie, La., served in the Navy. He was a member of Batesville First Baptist Church and retired from the Memphis Fire Department after 28 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners Club of Batesville.
Survivors include: his wife, Sherry M. Morgan of Sardis; one son, Tim Morgan of Millington, Tenn.; one sister, Margaret Piazza of Independence, La.; two brothers, Frank Morgan of Denver, Colo. and Thad Morgan of Hendersonville, Tenn.; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
