The Scott Potts Memorial Bull-O-Rama will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Northwest Mississippi Community College Farm Arena.  The first 40 paid riders will fill the available slots.  Any rider under 21 will have to present a signed release by a parent in order to be eligible to ride.  These forms are available upon request.

This year’s event sponsored by Sycamore Bank and presented by Landers, will be in memory of Scott Potts, a 42-year-old Tate County sheriff’s deputy, who died on Dec. 13, 2012.  The proceeds from the event will be used to establish The Scott Potts Endowed Scholarship through the Northwest Foundation.  Potts was a loving father, loyal friend and avid bull rider.

“We are looking for 40 of the finest bull riders for this event,” said Dolores Wooten, director of Alumni Affairs and Development Operations.  She stated the entry fee is $65 with $1,000 added and a commemorative buckle.  Entries open Aug. 1 and will close Monday, Sept. 8 at 4:30 p.m.

Tickets for the event are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.  Kids six and under are free.  Tickets are available beginning Sept. 1 at all Sycamore Bank locations (Senatobia, Independence, Coldwater, Hernando and Southaven) and the Tate County Co-Op. Tickets are $8 with current Northwest ID.

Interested riders should contact Wooten at (662) 560-1105 or e-mail dbwooten@northwestms.edu.
