Batesville citizens interested in promoting sign-up for C Spire high speed fiber optic cable are invited to a Batesville Champions meeting on Monday, July 14 at 5:30 p.m. at Panola Partnership.
C Spire has offered to install the fiber optic infrastructure at no cost to the city.
The only commitment C Spire asks is that 35 to 45 percent of residents in Batesville’s five “fiberhoods” pre-register online at www.cspire.com/fiberhome with a $10 refundable deposit.
Access to the internet via the ultra-high-speed fiber optic offers download and upload speeds 100 times faster than existing speeds.
The Dogwood Hills fiberhood currently leads the other four Batesville fiberhoods in percent of pre-registration for the service. Eleven percent of the required 45 percent have signed up there.
