The Ponytail Express 8 and under softball team won first place after going undefeated in the JP Hudson Dizzy Dean Bash last weekend winning all four games with the last being called because of rain. 

The Ponytail Express had their best game against the Hernando All-Stars defeating them 18-6. 

The game was never close and was out of contention from the beginning as the Express put seven runners on base and scored five runs in the first inning.

The lead-off batter grounded out to the second baseman but then they started bringing in singles. They got their second out on the fourth batter and were in trouble of getting the third. Before the inning was over, they put up three more runs.

Hernando seemed to put up a fight in the bottom of the inning as their first four batters scored on three doubles and a single. After Hernando loaded the bases with no outs, the defense tightened up and got the outs they needed. 

In the second, the Express scored three more runs and Hernando could only get one run pass the defense to pull within three, 8-5. From the third inning, the Express went on a 10-1 scoring spree to run-rule Hernando in the fifth.
