Theresa Belote

WEST MONROE, La.–– Theresa Belote, 92, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014. She was the mother of Patricia Beard of Batesville.

Services were held Saturday at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Jena, La. Rev. Dominick DiCarlo officiated. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery. Hixson Brothers Funeral Home had charge.

Belote, born Dec. 8, 1921, in Coplay, Pa., to the late Frank and Karoline Myers Potzman, was a homemaker. Her family migrated from Austria and settled in Eastern Pennsylvania in 1913.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Belote.

Survivors along with her daughter include: sons, Roger Belote of Rayville, John Belote of Little Creek; daughter, Linda Rocconi of Greenville; sister, Margaret DeRodeff of Sonora, Calif.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.


Nell Henson

NEW ALBANY––Nell Henson, 92, formerly of Panola, died Sunday, June 22, 2014. 

Services will be held today at 3 p.m. at New Albany Presbyterian Church. Rev. Bill Everett and Stephen Ewing will officiate. Burial will be in Vista Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time. United Funeral Service has charge.

She was a member of the New Albany Associate Reform Presbyterian Church where she was the oldest member of her church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George William “Bill” Henson and her grandson, Joel Faulkner.

Survivors include: daughter, Sarah Ruth Wilkinson; sons, George William Henson and James Lee Henson; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to New Albany Associate Reform Presbyterian Church;  Union County Museum or Palmer’s Children’s Home


Margarete E. Munn

SARDIS––Margarete E. Munn, 84, died Thursday, June 19, 2014, at her residence.

Services were held Sunday at Wells Funeral Home. Rev. Tim McMillen officiated. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park. Wells Funeral Home had chage.

Munn, born May 11, 1930, in Sindenfingen, Germany, to the late George and Clara Schaber Kamm, was a retired inspector for Sharp Electronics and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her husband of 61 years, Charles E. Munn of Sardis; three sisters, Honey Knackstedt of Boston, Mass. Rosemary Grasser and Ilse Beutel, both of Sindenfingen; two brothers, Horst Kamm and Reiner Kamm of Sindenfingen.

Sarah Ethel Mae Smith

SARDIS–– Sarah Ethel Mae Smith, 95, died Monday, June 16, 2014.

Services were held Saturday at Walton Chapel C.M.E. Church in Sardis. Burial was in Walton Chapel Church Cemetery. N.J. Ford and Sons Funeral Home had charge.

Marreo Andreal Toliver

SARDIS–– Marreo Andreal Toliver, 29, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014.

Services were held Saturday at Pleasant Green M.B. Church. W.O. McKinney officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Eddie Robinson Funeral Homes had charge.

Toliver, born Sept. 14, 1985, to Jasper Toliver and the late Shirley Ann Davis Toliver, was a truck driver, worked in construction and a member of Pleasant Green M.B. Church in Sardis. He graduated from North Panola High School and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors along with his father include: four sons, Markilo Lockhart, Omarian Cooper, O’Jaylan Cooper and O’Thavian Toliver; one daughter, Andrea Toliver; sister, Latoya Toliver and brother, Elmari Jones Jasper Toliver Jr., all of Sardis.

 

Arthea L. Webster

BATESVILLE–– Arthea L. Webster, 42, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.

Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary Chapel. Pastor Carl Ray will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. 

Webster, born March 15, 1972, in Batesville, to the late James Walter Lee and Ruby Jean Ford Lee, was a homemaker and a member of New Hope M.B. Church.

Survivors include: her husband, Arthur A. Webster; two sons, Jeremy Webb, of Batesville and Zachery Jones of Crowder; four daughters, Ashley Jones, Monica Jones and Jasmine Jones, all of Crowder and Leandrea Webb of Batesville; two brothers, Albert Lee of Courtland and Bryon Lee of Batesville and two sisters, Sherry Davis of Batesville and Sherwonda Webster of Courtland.
