ARLINGTON, TENN–Laverne Rhynes Allen, 78, longtime resident of Harmontown, died Thursday, April 24, 2014.
Services were held Sunday at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial was in Free Springs Cemetery in Harmontown.
She was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ, Harmontown and Olive Creek Church of Christ in Arlington.
She worked at the 4-55 Truck Stop in Senatobia, for 35 plus years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Leon Rhynes and husband, Joe Carson “J.C.” Allen; stepdaughter, Mary Webb, and stepson, James Allen.
Survivors include: her daughters, Veneda Ruby of Harmontown, and Kathy Carson of Arlington; stepdaughter, Pat Stokes of Batesville; sons, David Rhynes and Lynn Rhynes both of Waterford; sisters, Joyce Waller of Pensacola, Fla. and Jane Jackson of Como; brother, Jimmy Perkins of New Albany; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
Jimmy N. Beaver, 68, died Thursday, April 24, 2014, at the Veteran’s Hospital in Memphis.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Curtis Union Cemetery. Reverend Dale Beaver will officiate. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
Beaver, born August 12, 1945, to Robert Creed and Mable Erickson Beaver, worked as a heavy equipment operator. He served in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by one step-son, Joseph Clay Moore.
Survivors include: his wife, Bonnie Beaver of Crenshaw; one daughter, Patricia Rosemae Williams of Alaska; three sons, James Allen Beaver, Roy Wayne Beaver and Bobby Beaver, all of Alaska; one sister, Gladys Robin Self of Batesville; two brothers, Tony Mack Beaver of Water Valley, and Jerry Dale Beaver Sr. of Batesville; and eight grandchildren.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be sent to the Beaver Family at 2202 Pumping Station Rd., Crenshaw, Miss. 38621.
Services were held Saturday at Wells Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Higgins officiated. Burial was in Sardis Lake Baptist Church Cemetery.
Besinger, born to Mary Inez Dungan Dobbins of Memphis and the late Bobby Hugh Besinger, was the former owner of Economy Paint and Body Works in Memphis. He was a Baptist.
Survivors along with his mother include: one sister, Sandra Thompson of Memphis and one brother, Donald Logan of Louisiana.
MARKS–Robert L. Bradley, 94, died Friday April 25, 2014.
Services with military honors were held Monday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Murphy Eubanks and Rev. Kevin Hughs officiated. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Bradley, born June 24, 1919, to the late Jim and Molly Shaver Bradley, in the Longtown Community, joined the United States Army in 1942 and continued to serve throughout World War II as a Private First Class. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Crowder. He retired from the South Panola School District after being a mechanic for 23 years.
Survivors include: his wife of 67 years, Marcia Geraldine Partain Bradley of Marks; two daughters, Charlotte Harmom and Robbie Lindsey, both of Water Valley; one son Norman Bradley of Marks; one brother, James Earl Bradley of Memphis; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
BATESVILLE–Christine Hyde, 81, died Saturday April 26, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.
Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from noon until service time. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Hyde, born December 31, 1932 in Lafayette to the late Tommy and Evvie Mae Ray Hyde, was a retired factory worker from Batesville American manufacturing. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Batesville where she was a former member of the Chancel Choir. She also, at one point, played the piano for the Sunday evening services at church.
She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Waldo of Batesville.
BATESVILLE– Lavina Maxcine Little, 73, died Thursday April 17, 2014, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.
Services were held Tuesday at Crowder Baptist Church Larry Kilgore officiated burial was in Crowder Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.
Little, born February 4, 1941, in Memphis to the late Marvin Earl Ray and Mary Stillwell Ray, was a member of Crowder Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Edward Kennedy and Samuel Earl Little.
Survivors include six daughters, Glenda Kay Kennedy of Batesville, Brenda Gay Crocker of Oakland, Margie Ann Taylor of Highland, Texas, Charlotte Joan Banks of Coldwater, Patricia Ann Warren of Newport, N.C., and Emma Fay McIntyer of Southaven; two sons, John E. Kennedy of Pope and John Little of Augusta, Ark.; three sisters, Nettie May Dunway, Aretta Goodson and Virginia Earlene Woodlift; one brother, Hancel Ray; 21 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

CRENSHAW–Reverend Troy Lee Moses Sr., 61, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Services were held Saturday at Wells Funeral Home. Burial was in Longtown Cemetery in Crenshaw. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Moses, born April 19, 1953, in Forest City, Ark., to the late William Carrol and Joyce Reed Wilson, served his country as a United States Marine in the 1970s. He was the pastor for Crenshaw Church of God.
Survivors include: his wife, Paula Lynn Butler Moses of Crenshaw; three daughters, Jennifer Chambless (Eddie) of Terry, Tracy Moses (Brian) of Metairie, La., Stacy Moses of Terry; two sons, Troy Lee Moses, Jr. (Tanya) of Como, Brandon Ray Guy Moses (Kimberly) of Forest; two sisters, Debbie Hartwick (Eddie) of Mississippi, Michelle Wetherington (Bob) of Columbus, Ga.; two brothers, Mike Lipe (Rose) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Donnie Welch of Biloxi; nine grandchildren, Tabitha Chambless, Alyssa Hardin, Taylor Chambless, Brian Spiess, Jr., Destiny Moses, Kennedy Moses, Gunner Moses, Briggs Moses, Fallon Moses and one great-granddaughter, Skylar Aubree.
SARDIS–Mrs. Helen Reid Moore, 87, of Senatobia, formally of Sardis, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2014 at her home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 29, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Senatobia. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Sardis. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the church. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home – Senatobia Chapel has charge of arrangements.
She was born November 8, 1926 in Walnut.
A homemaker, she also worked for Holiday Inn and Rooker Chevrolet, both in Sardis.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sardis and was active in the nursing home ministry with her Sunday school class and missions in South Dakota and Alaska.
Mrs. Moore is survived by three daughters, Becky Rooker of Oxford, Joanne Thompson (Terry) of Brandon, and Susanne McLendon (Jimmy) of Glen Allen; two sons, Wallace R. Moore, Jr. (Sherry) of Jonesboro, and Clay Moore (Deborah) of Senatobia; one sister, Linda Matthews (Roy) of Crowder; one brother, Leroy Reid (Betty) of Lambert; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Wallace R. Moore, and her parents, L.E. Reid and Pauline Hardin Reid.
ENID–Haywood Martin Pitcock, 85, died April 26 2014 at his residence.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Dickins Funeral Home. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Dr David Ball will officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from noon until service time. Dickins Funeral Home has charge.
Pitcock, born May 2, 1928 in Pope to the late Ernest Haywood Pitcock and Cordie Campbell Pitcock, was a member of the Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Pope and a veteran of the United States Army Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Florine Pitcock.
Survivors include: two daughters, Gwen Shirley of Courtland and Denise Brooks of Batesville; one son, Steve Pitcock of Bartlett, Tenn.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
BATESVILLE–Wayne Tidwell, 77, died Friday April 25, 2014 at his residence.
Services were held Monday at Wells Funeral Home with burial in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Pope. Reverend Derrick Simmons officiated. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Tidwell, born August, 11, 1936, in Batesville, to the late William and Mary Frances Tatum Tidwell, was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Pope. He served his country in the US Army Reserves and he was retired from the Batesville Casket Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara James Tidwell.
Survivors include: his son, Mark Tidwell of Batesville; two sisters, Linda Carol Lawrence and Robbie Louise Polland, both of Batesville; two brothers, Joe Allen Tidwell of Oxford and Larry Brooks Tidwell of Batesville.
