Want to try out some of the latest handheld electronic devices? Visit your local branch of First Regional Library and you can do just that. Thanks to a Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant administered by the Mississippi Library Commission, all thirteen branches of FRL now have a Kindle Fire, iPad Mini, and a Google Nexus for patrons to use.
The devices can be checked out (with your free First Regional Library card) and used in the library for up to two hours. “We hope our patrons can use the devices in the library and get a feel for them,” said Marty Coleman, Assistant Director for Public Services. “Each device has several apps patrons can access. With the holidays coming up, patrons can see which device works best for them before they purchase one—or just enjoy playing with them in the library.”
To check out some of these devices, stop by your local branch of First Regional Library and ask at the main desk.
