To the Editor :

Civitan Radio Day will be held  December 7,  6 a.m.- 4 p.m. this year live on Country 101. For those of you who may not know, Civitan Radio Day is our annual fundraiser for The Batesville Civitan Club.

We sell ads to local businesses then read the ads live on the radio for 10 hours mixed in with live auctions.

Seems simple enough but a lot of things can go wrong on live radio when you have a room full of radio amateurs as myself. But there’s where the fun comes in. The fundraiser show always turns out to be entertaining and profitable.

The Civitan Club uses profits made from this yearly event to fund local efforts for the purpose of just helping our friends and neighbors.

We have a screening process we use to make sure all money our friends help us raise is distributed back to those who truly need help.

We are truly thankful and grateful for all the outstanding local businesses and individuals who help to make Civitan Radio Day such a success year after year.

Says a lot about our community. We truly strive to uplift our neighbors in need in this part of the country.
