Jerold Jermaine Henderson

ARKABUTLA –Jerold Jermaine Henderson, 29, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013, in Memphis. He was the brother of Lynese Henderson of Como.

Services were held Saturday at Arkabutla Baptist Church. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery in Coldwater. Rodgers Funeral Home has charge.

Survivors along with his sister, include: his parents, Evelyn Henderson of Coldwater and Larry Henderson of Senatobia; grandmother, Nelly Johnson of Hernando; one daughter, Liliana Henderson of Arkabutla; one brother, Larry Henderson of L.A., Calif.


William Holyfield

COMO — William Holyfield, 73, died Saturday, October 12, 2013.

Services were held Saturday at Felix Cauthen Funeral Home.

Holyfield was a truck driver.

Survivors include: his wife, Verlene Holyfield of Como; four daughters, Paula Montgomery of Como, Corshundor Holyfield Warren of Memphis, Bridget Tony Lark of Atlanta, Ga. and Quentonia Taylor of Senatobia; five sons, Steven Tony and Nicholas Jones, both of Como, Darrin Ross Tony of Arkon, Ohio and Keith Jones and Antonio Echols, both of Memphis; one brother, David Holyfield of Memphis; 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.


Barbara James Tidwell

BATESVILLE — Barbara James Tidwell, age 70, passed away on Thursday afternoon, October 17, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.

Services were held Saturday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Derrick Simmons officiating. Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Pope. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Tidwell, born June 15, 1943 in Memphis, to Audrey and Iva Mae Gunner James,  was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Tidwell; son: Mark Tidwell of Batesville; sister: Clyda Faye of Hernando and two brothers, Joe James of Walls and Mack James of Jackson.


Mary Frances Harmon Woods

BATESVILLE — Mary Frances Harmon Woods, 70, died Saturday, October 19, 2013, at her residence.

Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Batesville. Rev. Keith Bolen, Dr. Gary Berry and Dr. Tommy Snyder will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Woods, born Oct. 17, 1943, in Batesville, to the late Russell Lee and Mildred Hayward Harmon, was a member of First Baptist Church in Batesville.

She worked as a bank teller for the former Bank of Batesville. Following her career at the bank, she and her husband went into business for themselves, forming Backwoods Trucking. After many years in the trucking business, Mary Frances and Mitchell decided to open Tri-Lakes Monument at their home on Hwy. 51 between Batesville and Sardis.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Lindsey Woods; grandson Michael Brandon Presley; half-sister, Sara Toney and half-brother, Russell M. Harmon.

Survivors include: her husband, Mitchell Woods of Sardis; a daughter, Machael Woods Sorrells of Batesville; a son, Rusty Woods and his wife Meg of Batesville; two brothers, Hayward Lee Harmon and his wife, Sandra of Batesville and Bill Harmon and his wife, Bea of Batesville, and five grandchildren, Keila Duatre, Carlee Woods, Hunter Sorrells, Sulli Woods and Mathew Woods.
