BATESVILLE — David W. Brister, 58, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at his residence.
Services were held Thursday at Wells Funeral Home. Rev. Terrell McGregor officiated. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery in Courtland. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Brister, born July 23, 1955, in Memphis, to the late Donald C. and Georgia “Fay” White Brister, was a member of Tocowa Baptist Church and the Civitan Club. He served in the KAIROS Prison Ministry in Parchman. He was a machine operator for MDOT and also with the Corps of Engineers contractors. He also worked as a route manager for Lance, Inc.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Ellen Brister.
Survivors include: his wife of 35 years, Judy Ellen Flanigan Brister; one daughter, Megan Clements of Batesville; two sons, Jason Alan Brister of Senatobia and Michael Paul Brister of Panama City, Fla.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

BATESVILLE — Jeffery Lewis Faulkner, 42, died Monday, October 14, 2013, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at West Batesville Baptist Church. Rev. Henry Kelly Walls will officiate. Eddie Robinson Funeral Home has charge.
Faulkner, born June 29, 1971, in Marks, to the late Ervin Jeff Faulkner and Ruby Lee Dobson, was a veteran of the Air Force. He attended school in Quitman County.
Survivors include: six brothers, Ervin Faulkner, Rickey Faulkner, William Faulkner, Daniel Faulkner, Nathaniel Faulkner and Micheal Faulkner, all of Batesville and two sisters, Leshia Faulkner and Belinda Faulkner.
BATESVILLE — Boyce Henderson Keating Jr., 91, died Sunday, October 13, 2013, at the Methodist Medical Center in Oakridge, Tenn.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Dickins Funeral Home. Rev. Ed Woodall will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be held today at 10 a.m. Dickins Funeral Home has charge.
Keating, born Feb. 5, 1922, to the late Boyce Henderson Keating Sr. and Byrd Towles Keating, was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a retired U.S. Postal clerk.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Cobb Keating; one son, Mark Keating and one grandchild, Allen Keating.
Survivors include: one son, Phillip Keating of Oakridge, Tenn.; one sister, Oundia Allison of Atlanta, Ga. and one brother, Ralph Keating and his wife, Mary of Batesville.

BATESVILLE — Janie Lucas, 61, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. Wells Funeral Home. Rev. Jess Chadwick will officiate. Burial will be in McIvor Cemetery. Visitation will be held noon until service time. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
Lucas, born April 20, 1952, in Sunflower, was a graduate of South Panola High School. She worked as a grain operator for North Mississippi Grain Services.
She was preceded in death by her step-father, John S. “Cigar” Johnson and a grandson, Tyler Broome.
Survivors include: her husband, Gracy Lucas; two daughters, Candy Broome of Batesville and Lacey Lucas-Shipley of Oxford; one son, Bubba Lucas of Batesville; three sisters, Sadie Glover, Lois Henson and Lisa Tolbert, all of Batesville; two brothres, Bubba Johnson and William Earl Johnson of Batesville and eight grandchildren.
WATER VALLEY — Harold Willis Jaudon, 80, formerly of Panola, died Saturday, October 12, 2013 at his home in Water Valley.
Services were held Tuesday in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Rev. Doug Pepper and Bro. Fred Eakes officiating. Burial was in Pine Flat Cemetery in Lafayette County.
He was born May 5, 1933 in Panola County, to the late Joe and Elizabeth Roberson Jaudon. Harold was a member of North Main Methodist Church in Water Valley where he formerly served as a lay leader and Sunday School superintendent. He was a member of the Odd Fellows, holding many offices over the years including the title of Grand Master. He graduated from Northwest Community College and worked for many years as a librarian, then later went to work at Big Yank where he retired as a Dock Supervisor.
Survivors include: his wife, Lola Ann Taylor Jaudon; two daughters, Cheryl Fly and Lisa Mills all of Water Valley; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
COMO — John Henry Mabry Jr., 72, died Monday, October 14, 2013, at his residence.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Felix Cauthen Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Lawns Cemetery in Northbrook, Ill. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home has charge.
Mabry worked in high school maintenance.
Survivors include: one daughter, Chanda Mabry of Chicago; two sons, Willie Roy Wilbourn of Senatobia and Christopher Mabry of Palatine, Ill.; one sister, Aberta Simmon of Como; two brothers, El Roy Mabry and James Mabry of Como; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
NEW ORLEANS — Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Embry McIntyre, 48, died October 16, 2013, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.
A memorial service will be held today, Friday, October 18 at Wells Funeral Home.
Visitation begins at 3:30 p.m. and the service will begin at 6:00 p.m. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
She was born November 28, 1964, in Eupora, to Lady Caroline Embry of Batesville and the late Russell Embry.
She grew up in Batesville, graduated from South Panola High School, attended Delta State University and then went to Culinary School in Memphis.
In New Orleans she pursued her love and passion working as a chef, caterer and party planner for 30 years. Her passion for caring for others led her to establish Dogs Day Out, a business that allowed her to care for her canine kindred spirits.
Survivors along with her mother, include: daughter, Hannah McIntyre of New Orleans; brother, Joey Strickland and his wife Kim of Batesville; sisters Ellen Embry of Takoma Park, Md., Emmy Embry Long of Eupora and Iantha Embry Hines of Gulfport.
The family asks friends who wish to honor Beth’s memory to send memorials to the Panola County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1756, Batesville, Miss. 38606.
Birdie Agnes White, 100, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo.
Services were held Thursday at Waller Funeral Home. Rev. Lamar Pickins officiated. Burial was in Springdale Cemetery. Waller Funeral Home had charge.
Born in Kentucky, Mrs. White was the widow of Mr. Samuel Andrew White. She was a member of Springdale Freewill Baptist Church and formerly worked as a nurse’s aide at Graceland Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Wilma Faye Houston and an infant child.
Survivors include three daughters, Dianne Gray of Fulton, Janice Cook of Oxford and Donna Patterson of Southaven; four sons, Quay White of Batesville, C.W. White of Oxford, Gene White of Batesville and Johnny White of Oxford; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
