Cecil Bratcher Jr.

BATESVILLE — Cecil Bratcher Jr., 81, died Saturday, August 10, 2013.

Services will be held Saturday at noon at Sardis Church of God. Burial will be in East Batesville C.O.G.I.C. Cemetery. Eddie Robinson Funeral Home has charge.
Bratcher was a maintenance engineer.
Survivors include: his wife, Mattie M. Bratcher of Memphis; one son, Charles E. Bratcher of Memphis; three grandchldren and a host of great-grandchildren.

Carl Collums

BATESVILLE — Carl (Pee Wee) Collums, 71, died Tuesday, August 13, 2013, in Oxford.

Services will be held Friday,  at 11:00 a.m. at Kimbro Funeral Home Chapel in Marks with interment to follow at Longtown Cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.

Collums was an electrican with W.A. Kruger in Senatobia and a member of Sarah Baptist Church, as well as a member of the Mississippi National Guard, Mason and Shriner Club and a little league Coach.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theo and Ellen Collums and sister Hazel Collums.  Mr Collums is survived by his wife, Betty Collums of Crenshaw; daughters Tammy (Jason) Willard of Strayhorn, Kathy (Jimmy) Wright of Senatobia, Michelle (David) Moore of New Burn, N.C.; sons Michael (Sandi) Collums of Crenshaw,; Johnny (Sandy) Collums of Batesville;  sister Shirley Mayeaut of Baton Rouge, La.; brother Aubrey Collums of Marks; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Sarah Baptist Church, Sarah.

Larry Knox Daniels

Larry Knox Daniels, 63, died Thursday, August 8, 2013, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. 

Born in Pontotoc, to the late L.Q. and Joan Daniels, was self-employed as a tile mason and a member of Antioch Free Will Baptist Church.

Services were held Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Antioch Free Will Baptist Church  with J.V. Mills officiating. Interment will be in the Antioch Cemetery. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Roxanne Daniels of Toccopola, and Michelle Lea Ford of Batesville; three sons, Michael Preston Daniels of Oxford, Steven Knox Daniels of Oxford, and George Robert “Bobby” Stripling of Iuka; one brother, Donald Daniels of Oxford; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Sanctuary Hospice House, P.O. Box 2177, Tupelo, Miss 38803.

Charles Nelson

TUPELO–Charles Nelson, 60, died Monday, August 12, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Rev. W.T. Wilbourn will officiate. Burial will be in Howard Chapel C.M.E. Church Cemetery in Como. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.

Nelson, born Sept. 14, 1952, in  Como, to Wallace Nelson and Annie Mae Brown, was a member of Howard Chapel C.M.E. Church in Como.

Survivors include: one son, Charles Edward King of Houston; one daughter, Shanta Baskins of Houston; five brothers, Oliver Nelson, Marvin Brown, Calvin Brown and Anthony Bowes, all of Jackson and Bobby Brown of Radford, Va.; four sisters, Vernie N. Boston of Houston, Joyce Richardson of Oklona, Loyce Green of Atlanta and Alice Sherrell Holmes of Houston and two grandchildren.
