COURTLAND — Robert “Danny” Daniel Alewine, 70, died Thursday, April 4, 2013.

Services were held Saturday at Wells Funeral Home. Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Pope. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Alewine, born June 5, 1942, in Pope, to the late  F.C. “Peaches” and Dolly Ophelia Ragon Alewine, was a member of Tocowa Baptist Church and had worked as an automobile mechanic. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Joan Jordan Alewine.

Survivors include: his wife, Ethel Fortinberry Alewine of Courtland; one daughter, Debbie Alewine Moore of Courtland; a stepson, David Mockbee of Germany; four sisters, Francis Alewine Garrison of McCarley, Ann Alewine Hudspeth of Senatobia, Carol Alewine Cook of Como and Claudette Alewine Wages of Senatobia; two brothers, David Alewine and Steve Alewine, both of Courtland; three grandchildren.
