Merle Katherine Darby

COURTLAND –– Merle Katherine Darby, 84, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi.

Services were held Friday at Dickins Funeral Home. Rev. Terrell McGregor officiated. Burial was in Center Hill Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Darby, born Sept. 2, 1928, to Casey and Lula May Darby, was a retired nurse and bookkeeper. She was member of Tocowa Baptist Church. She served as treasurer and bookkeeper for 20 years and 21 years as Lord’s Supper Chairman.

Survivors include nine nieces and three nephews. Memorials may be made to Tocowa Baptist Church and Center Hill Cemetery Fund.

Patsy J. Fox

SARDIS –– Patsy J. Fox, 47, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at her residence.

Services will be held today at noon at St. Peter’s M.B. Church. Rev. Odell Draper will officiate. Burial will be in Batesville Cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.

Fox, born July 15, 1965, in Marks to Dorothy Wallace of Chicago and the late Eddie Parks, was a member of St. Peter’s M.B. Church.

Survivors along with her mother include: her husband, Charles Fox of Sardis; two daughters, Charlene Fox and Breanna Wallace, both of Sardis; one brother, Mark Wallace of Chicago; two sons, Charles Fox Jr. and Justin Wallace, both of Sardis.

Jewel Bay Pittman Myles

BATESVILLE –– Jewel Bay Pittman Myles, 86, died Friday, March 15, 2013, at Golden Living Nursing Home.

Graveside services were held Monday at Pisgah Cemetery near Courtland. Rev. Brent Boseman officiated. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Myles, born Oct. 12, 1926, in Oklahoma, to the late Virgil and Lena Perkins Bay, was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church and during her work career she was an Avon representative.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Pittman.

Survivors include: her husband, Loyd Milton Myles; step-daughter, Shirley Gregg of Pope; one sister, Virgie B. Scruggs of Sardis; one brother, James Bay of Batesville.

Doris Louise Darby Redwine

BATESVILLE –– Doris Louise Darby Redwine, 69, died Friday morning, March 15, 2013 at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven.

Services were held Sunday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Bryant officiating. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Redwine, born June 17, 1943 in Tallahatchie County to Walter C. and Violet Shelton Boothe, was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Edward Darby.

Survivors include: her husband, William Thomas Redwine of Batesville; three daughters, Regina Louise Jaco, Tammy Redwine and Laurie Pitcock all of Batesville; three sisters, Barbara Ann Reeves of Crossville, Tenn., Polly Evans of Charleston and Elouise Jenkins of Rockford, Ill.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Audrey Hall Simpson

Audrey Hall Simpson, age 85, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Ill. Mrs. Simpson was the mother of Panola County Sheriff Dennis Darby, Rita Darby McArthur, Eddie K. Darby, Janet Darby Stewart and Judy Darby Smith.
