Fisher passes 3/15/13

Funeral services were held Thursday for Sally Herring Fisher, who served for 33 years in the Panola County chancery clerk’s office.
Fisher passed away Monday, March 11 at Tri-Lakes Medical Center. She was 71.
She served 17 years a deputy chancery clerk under the late Brooks Vance. She was elected to the county office in 1987, when Vance retired, and served four consecutive terms.
Jim Pitcock, the current chancery clerk, won election to the office after Fisher retired.
Fisher served as president of the Mississippi Chancery Clerk Association from 1998 to 1999 and previously served as vice-president and treasurer.
She attended First United Methodist Church in Batesville and was a member of the Batesville Rotary Club.
Survivors include her husband, Larry “Bud” Fisher Sr., and three sons, Bud Fisher Jr., Clint Fisher, and Clay Fisher.
The funeral service was held at First United Methodist Church with burial in Batesville Magnolia Cemetery.
Memorials can be sent to First United Methodist Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
