Juanita O’Neal Brown

SARDIS — Juanita O’Neal Brown, 84, died Friday, February 22, 2013, at Senatobia Convalescent Center in Senatobia.

Services will be held today 11 a.m. at Union Baptist Church in Sardis. Rev. Bob Hickey will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home has charge.

Brown, born Sept. 4, 1928, in Memphis, to the late Charles O’Neal and Susie Grace Murray O’Neal, was a member of Union Baptist Church where she worked with the youth and taught vacation Bible school for 50 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 40 years and served as Ladies Chaplain for the state of Mississippi Disabled Veterans for a number of years.

Survivors include: her husband, James E. Brown; two daughters, Wanda Brasher and Carol Darby, both of Hernando; two sons, Milton Brown of Sardis and Charles E. Brown of Looxahoma; three sisters, Ethel Santucci of Batesville, Arlene Dickey and  Daisy Smith, both of Huntsville, Ala.; one brother, Gerald Roberes of Pope; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Senatobia Convalescent Center or Union Cemetery Fund c/o Wanda Brasher, 5175 Belmont Rd., Hernando, Miss. 38632.

Albertine Maddow Howard

BATESVILLE– Albertine Maddox Howard, 92, died Sunday, February 17, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi.

Services were held Sunday at Viney Creek M.B. Church. Rev. Ozine Thomas officiated. Burial was in Delta Memorial Cemetery in Greenville. Cooley’s Mortuary had charge.

Howard, born Sept. 21, 1920, in Greenville, to Frank Maddox and Willie Mcintrye, attended Alcorn State University and was a retired accountant for Alcorn State University. She was a member of Viney Creek M.B. Church and Delta Sigma Sorority.

Survivors include: one son, Dr. Charles Davis of Batesville and two grandsons, Dr. Jonathan Davis of Golsboro, N.C. and Eric Davis of Washington, D.C.

Robert Hibbler

COLDWATER– Robert Hibbler, 59, died Monday, February 18, 2013, at Methodist South Hospital in Memphis. He was the brother of Lillian Askew of Crenshaw.

Services were held Sunday at Mt. Calm M.B. Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home had charge.

Survivors along with his sister include: his wife, Debra L.M. Hibbler; five daughters, Glenda Hibbler of Marks, Schulendra Ellebe of Anderson, S.C., Lashanta Hibbler of Coldwater, Montanez Roberts and Shaterrica Tolbert, both of Senatobia; one son, Robert Hibbler Jr. of Memphis; two sisters, Geraldine Harris and Sarah Eppenger, both of Sarah and nine grandchildren.

Valera Ann Welch Mothershead

SARDIS– Valera Ann Welch Mothershead, 70, died Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Services were held Friday at Ray Nowell Funeral Home in Sardis. Rev. Kenny White and Rev. Steve Phillips officiated. Burial was in Peach Creek Cemetery.

Mothershead, born Sept. 25, 1942, to the late Wrennie E. Welch and Lucille Durham Welch, was the former administrator of Sardis Hospital. She was also a bookkeeper.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. “Bill” Mothershead.

Survivors include: two sons, William Keith Mothershead and his wife, Kay of Sardis; Kenneth E. Mothershead and his wife, Carol of Hernando; one nephew, Shane Rose of Sardis; one sister, Melissa Gail Lawler and her husband, Robert of Sardis; two grandchildren, Nathan Mothershead and his wife, Tiffany of Brandon and Marhsall Mothershead and his wife, Christina of Sardis and four great-grandchildren, Lexie Kate, Ella Kay, Drew and Mason.

Memorials may be made to Peach Creek Cemetery and/or Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Jane Cox Wade

BATESVILLE –– Jane Cox Wade died Monday, February 25, 2013, at Azalea Gardens in Oxford.

Visitation will be held Thursday at noon at Batesville Presbyterian Church with services at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home has charge. Complete obituary information will be in Friday’s edition of The Panolian.

Memorials may be made to Batesville Presbyterian Church.

Jalmers Willingham

BATESVILLE — Jalmers Willingham, 73, died Thursday, February 21, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi.

Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at New Bethlehem M.B. Church. Rev. Jacob Hentz will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.

Willingham, born July 31, 1939, in Batesville, to Doyle Willingham and Ardelia King, was a retired farmer and a member of New Bethlehem M.B. Church.

Survivors include: one son, Michael Anthony Willingham of Rock Hill, S.C.; one daughter, Sarah Ann Rushing of Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Mazzie Bishop of Courtland and Shirley Shegog of Pope; one brother, Robert Anderson Jr. of Kansas City and one sister, Earline Baker of Batesville.
