Mary Louise Anderson

BATESVILLE –Mary Louise Anderson, 63, died Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Desoto.

Services were held Thursday at Dickins Funeral Home. Burial was in Longtown Cemetery. Rev. James Carrouthers officiated. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Anderson, born March 13, 1949, in Sidney, N.Y., to the late Lowell Crawford and Sara Phillips Crawford, was a homemaker and a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Anderson and one son, Kenneth Burl Reid.

Survivors include: one daughter, Theresa Trimm of Batesville; one son, William Troy Reid of Oxford; three sisters, Lenora Moden of Ohio, Jane Lord and Ethel Hanson of Texas and Carolyn Greer of Tennessee; three brothers, Bud Crawford, Hubert Crawford and Victor Crawford, all of Texas; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Myrtle Brewer Cosby

PONTOTOC — Myrtle Brewer Cosby, 90,  formerly of Courtland, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at her daughter’s home.

Services were held Saturday at Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Rev. Jay Anderson and Rev. Todd Pittman officiated. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Cosby, born Oct. 19, 1922, in Batesville, to the late William Hulett Brewer and Mary Lakley Brewer, was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Shuford Cosby and one daughter, Mary Jo Cosby and one son, Bill Cosby.

Survivors include: one daughter, Judy Karr of Pontotoc; two sons, Larry Wayne Cosby and Mike Cosby both of Water Valley; one sister, Lyda Jo Vick of Courtland; six grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.

Terri S. Johnson Hollingshead

PONTOTOC — Terri S. Johnson Hollingshead, 28, died November 28, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She was the granddaughter of Margie and Joe Pearson of Batesville.

Services were held Monday at the First Assembly of God Church in Portageville, Mo. with the Reverend Eugene Poole officiating. Burial followed at the Portageville Cemetery. DeLisle Funeral Home had charge.

Hollingshead, born Nov. 13, 1984, in Hayti, Mo., was a graduate of North Pemiscot High School and worked at the Eagles Club and Tasters in New Madrid.

Survivors along with her grandparents include: her husband, Dave Hollingshead of New Madrid, MO, her mother, Cheryl Johnson of   Hayward, MO her brother, James Thomas of Hayward, Mo.; and her grandparents, Nan Johnson of Poplar Bluff, Mo.


Helen McClure

CLARKSDALE – Helen McClure, 86, a South Central Bell Clerk, died December 2, 2012 at home.
Visitation will be held today from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. at Clarksdale Baptist Church. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Clarksdale Baptist Church with burial in the Oakridge Cemetery. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale has charge.

 She was a member of Clarksdale Baptist Church.

 Preceded in death by husband Charles P. McClure.

Survivors include: one daughter, Linda Clark of Clarksdale; one son, Charles P. McClure Jr of Batesville; one sister, Jimmie Mosley of Cleveland; four grandchildren, Carolyn Hamilton McClure, Dorothy Claire McClure, Christopher Pate, Julie Clark; and one great-grandchild Jackson Chase Byrd.

Nena Karen Miller

CROWDER– Nena Karen Miller, 56, died Tuesday, November 27, 2012.

Graveside Services were held Friday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Greenville. Rev. Dale Beaver officiated. Mortimer Funeral Home had charge.

Miller was a homemaker.
