Christmas Parades

Christmas parades are scheduled in Batesville, Pope, Sardis, Como and Crenshaw as the holidays approach.
Batesville’s parade will be Tuesday, December 4 at at 6:30 p.m. Parade chairman Jerry Lightsey reminded groups to sign up by Friday, November 30 to reserve a spot in the line-up. His phone number is 934-3356.
The theme of the parade this year is “Christmas in Dixie.” The parade is sponsored by the Batesville Lions Club.
The route will be along Broadway through the Square and down College.
Pope’s Christmas parade will be Saturday, December 15 at 4 p.m. The parade will line up at Pope School and proceed west to the railroad tracks. Call Misty Hill at 647-1459 to register an entry.
In Sardis the annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting ceremony will be held Tuesday, December 11. Line up will be in the Fred’s parking lot at 5:30 pm.
The parade will follow the same route as last year, beginning at Fred’s and going west on Lee to Main St., north on Pocahontas and ending at City Hall for the tree lighting.
The Sardis Chamber is inviting all businesses, churches, local organizations and groups to participate, either by entering a float or marching in the parade. Four-wheelers, bad boys and motorcycles are welcomed, however, if you can decorate your vehicle, please do. Anyone with an antique vehicle is invited to participate.

In Como, the parade is scheduled Monday, December 10, at 6 p.m. The event is free to all participants and anyone who would like to enter the parade can pick up an entry form from E.D.U.C.A.T.E., City Hall, or Como Green Grocer.

In Crenshaw, the parade is scheduled for Thursday, December 6, at 6 p.m. Anyone wanting to participate contact City Hall at 662-382-5234.
