John Nelson plans to operate his steam locomotive “Marie” on the next two Saturdays, November 17 and 24. The steam engine aficionado has built about 1,300 feet of track near his Chapeltown home where the century-old, German-built locomotive occasionally huffs and puffs, back and forth, under the command of its engineer. The project weds Nelson’s interest in both engines and the early logging railroads, one of which — the Dummyline — once passed near his home where the paved route to Crowder stil
