A public hearing is set for today at 6 p.m. to give the general public  an  opportunity to speak about proposed natural gas rates in Batesville.

Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley announced the public hearing in recent weeks.

The hearing will be held at the Panola County courthouse in Batesville.

Presley is planning other hearings in Pontotoc, New Albany and other North Mississippi cities.
