Staff report
For two years running the fun at “Show-off on the Square” has begun on a Saturday morning in October with a jaw-dropping display of beautiful automobiles.
A street dance has been added this year, which begins Friday night, so there will now be jaw-dropping attempts of people attempting to dance.
Memphis DJ Alex Ward and his Pig-N-Whistle Show will entertain the crowd Friday, beginning at 7 p.m. The show will run until 10.
“Show-off” was declared an immediate success when it began in 2010, filling the Square with restored vintage vehicles.
Ward’s long-running Oldies show will complement the parade of automobiles on display.
Batesville aldermen approved extending “Show-off” to Friday night last month.
The morning of “Show-off,” the Batesville Exchange Club will be flipping pancakes for its annual fund-raiser that benefits the club’s fight against child abuse.
The pancake breakfast is 7-10 a.m. at the Batesville Intermediate School cafeteria.
Show off is sponsored by Batesville Main Street.
