Judge sends burglary case to grand jury

Judge Bill McKenzie referred a Batesville man to the grand jury during Batesville Municipal Court held Wednesday.

Nickolas Davis, 335 Shamrock, Batesville, was bond over to the grand jury for burglary and petit larceny.
Antonio Morales, 76 Carlyle, Munford, Tenn., failed to appear to answer charges for possession of alcohol by a minor and open container.

Jaterian Lee, 107 Percyville, Sardis, was fined $317 or disorderly conduct-failure to comply.

Shakiffany Powell, 375 Tubbs Rd., Batesville, had a simple assault case dismissed after the affiant Domika Williams failed to appear to prosecute.

Lakosha Hankins, 201-A Batesville, was fined $315 for simple assault after entering a guilty plea.
John M. Hill Jr., 6230 Mt. Olivet, Batesville, had a case for DUI, open container and careless driving continued.

Wendy Howard, 1339 Tocowa Rd., Courtland, had charges for DUI-other and reckless driving held after an agreement was made between the city’s prosecuting attorney, Bob Morris, the arresting officer and the judge.

The charges will be held if Howard shows completion of drug treatment. If she fails to do so the charges will come back.

Chase C. Roberts, 273 Farrish Gravel Rd., Batesville, had a charge for simple assault and trespassing dismissed after the affiant Lawanda Holcomb failed to appear to prosecute. He also had old fines of $3,728.

He entered the city’s work release program for 60 days to satisfy his old fines.
Jeneivious Willingham, 20 Atkins, Sardis, paid his fines of $1,402 that have been due since April 2011, in full prior to court.

Corey Wright, 214 Tubbs Rd., Batesville, was found guilty of domestic violence-simple assault. He was fined $404.

Kimberly Tedford, 151 Batesville Dr., Batesville, was fined $381 for driving while license suspended.

Johneshia Taylor, 1324 Adams Rd., Sardis, was fined $358 for no driver’s license and no proof of insurance.
