Caden “Cade” Edward Ainsworth


MADISON – Caden “Cade” Edward Ainsworth, 15, died Thursday, July 12, 2012, at his family’s residence. He was the grandson of Randy and Cheri Mitchell of Crowder.

Services were Sunday at Highland Colony Baptist Church in Ridgeland. Burial was in Parkway Memorial Cemtery. Sebrell Funeral Home had charge.

Ainsworth, born Feb. 18, 1997, in Flowood, was active in sports and was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church where he was active in vacation Bible school, RA’s and the youth ministry. He was an Eagle Scout and recently finished his freshmen year at Germantown High School where he was awarded the 2012 “Faith In Deed” Courage Award.

Survivors, along with his grandparents, include: his parents, Danny Edward Ainsworth and Dianna Mitchell Ainsworth; one sister, Calli Alexandra Ainsworth and grandmother, Helen Ainsworth.

James Franklin “Jimmy” Clark


BATESVILLE – James Franklin “Jimmy” Clark, 53, died Friday, June 13, 2012, at his residence.

Services were held Monday at Wells Funeral Home. Rev. Raymond Aven and George Chunn officiated. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Clark, born Sept. 30, 1958, in Batesville, to the late Raymond Dudley Clark and Margie Herring Clark, was a construction foreman for Panola Construction.

Survivors include: his wife, Jane Kelsay Milam Clark of Batesville; two daughters, Starre Clark Coleman and Paige Clark Caine, both of Batesville; two step-daughters, Heather Milam Barbee of Memphis and Ashley Milam Allen of Batesville; his mother, Margie Herring Clark of Batesville; three sisters, Glenda Clark Aven, Dorothy Clark Maddux and Darlene Clark Lawrence, all of Batesville; two  brothers, Donald “Donnie” Clark of Batesville and Raymond Len Clark of Pope and nine grandchildren.

June Denman Fox


CHARLESTON – June Denman Fox, 84, died Friday, July 13, 2012, at Fairfield in Batesville.

Services were held Monday at Womble Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Dr. Paul Middleton officiated. Burial was in Charleston Cemetery.

Fox, born June 27, 1928, in Greenwood, was the daughter of Daniel Webster Denman and Mary Louise Newkirk Denman. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Harlin Fox.

Survivors include: three daughters, Sheryl Myers of Dundee, Karen Robertson of Grenada and Alice Robertson of Pontotoc; one son, Harlin Fox of Batesville; one sister, Joyce Rowland of Charleston; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Vastie Fitts


HOLLY SPRINGS – Vastie Fitts, 83, died Friday, July 6, 2012. She was the grandmother of Panolian staff member Felecia Neal of Coldwater.

Services were held Saturday at Chulahoma M.B. Church. Fitts, born April 7, 1929, to the late Henrietta McClatchey and Haywood Fitts, was a member of Chulahoma M.B. Church. She was secretary of the Pastor’s Aid Committee. She worked in the garment industry and retired from Angelairs Bridals. She designed and made bridal gowns.

Survivors along with her granddaughter include: one son, James E. Wicks of University Park, Ill.; one daughter, Gwendolyn E.Wicks of Coldwater; five sisters, Ethel Mays, Darnie Phillips, Roberta Howell, Almetter Jeffries and Jewel Fox; three brothers, Haywood Fitts Jr., Clay Fitts, Lucious Fitts; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.

Andy L. Stevens


SARDIS – Andy L. Stevens, 53, died Friday, July 13, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.
Services were held Monday at Ray-Nowell Funeral Home.

Burial was in Union Cemetery. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home had charge.

Stevens, born Nov. 9, 1958, to the late John and Gladys Riales Stevens, was a foreman at Graham Farms in Sardis.

Survivors include: his wife, Sandra Smith Stevens of Sardis; two sons, Bobby Smith of Sardis and Lee Stevens of Sardis; two sisters, Ouida Kennedy of Sardis and Freida Kennedy of Sardis; two brothers, Roger Stevens and Larry Stevens, both of Sardis and seven grandchildren.
