Mississippi Bulldogs

The Mississippi Bulldogs, the Pope youth league football teams, will hold signup for all three teams Saturday, July 14, beginning at 10 a.m. Sign up will be for teams for players ages 7 to 8, 9 to 10, and 11 to 12.
Students do not have to attend Pope School to play for the teams.

Batesville Tigers
Batesville Tigers Youth football will start practice Monday, July 23 at 5:30 p.m. for all age groups.
New players may also sign up at this time for 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12 year-old age groups.

ND Football Camp
Tuesday, July 17
North Delta will hold a Football Skills Camp Tuesday, July 17 at North Delta School.
The camp will run from 8 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
The camp is for children kindergarten through eighth grade. Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt and one-on-one instruction of his position. They will watch film of the day’s sessions and make corrections.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. with stretching at 8:30. Offensive instruction and film study will be on the morning agenda while defensive will be on the afternoon agenda.
The guest speaker is athletic trainer Jared Vowell who will address issues of being hurt and injured, RICE and concussion prevention.
A punt, pass and kick competition will be held for the four age groups and prizes will be awarded.
Fee for the camp is $60.

July 23-26, Mon. – Thurs.
Kiddie Camp will be held at the South Panola High School gym during the week of July 23 – July 26 for ages 4 to 12.
Registration will begin at 4:30 on Monday, July 23. The camp will run Monday through Thursday nights from 5 to 7.
A parent night will be held on Thursday at 7 following the last day of camp.
The cost of the camp is $50 and includes a T-shirt.
Gwin Jackson Benefits
Friends of Gwin Jackson, well-known angler, fishing guide and hand-tied jig maker was recently diagnosed with stage four liver cancer have scheduled several fundraisers to help with his mounting medical bills.
On July 28, the Lions Club of Batesville will have a BBQ plate dinner at 6 p.m. ($7 per plate) and a live and silent auction beginning at 7 p.m. They will also have Boston butts for $25 with pick-up starting at 5 p.m. For information contact Byron Tedford at (662) 934-0887.
On August 4 there will be a benefit auction at Southern Voice Auction in Marks beginning at 4 p.m.
