SARDIS – Eunice Lee Adair, 48, died Monday, April 30, 2012.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Peter’s Church. Burial will be in Eureka Cemetery.
Eddie Robinson Funeral Home has charge.
Born July 13, 1963, she was the widow of John Adair.
SILVER CREEK – L.C. Adams, 85, died Sunday, April 29, 2012. He was the brother of Billy Adams, Darell Adams and Agnes Shivers all of Batesville.
Services were held Tuesday at Monticello Penticostal Church in Monticello. Burial was in the church cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home had charge.
Adams was born in Water Valley on November 3, 1926. He was the son of Loyd and Ida Mae Adams. He was a mechanic for 58 years and retired from May Chevrolet. He also enjoyed farming. He was a charter member of Monticello Pentecostal Church.
Survivors along with his brothers and sister, include: his wife of 66 years, Francis Adams of Silver Creek; his daughters, Patsy Alexander of Greenwell Springs, La., and Evelyn Westmoreland of Gadsden, Ala.; his sons, Wayne Adams of Baton Rouge, La. and Rickey Adams of Shuqualak; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren
BATESVILLE – Lyndon “Boosie” Bradford, 45, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.
Services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Batesville Junior High School Auditorium. Rev. Odell Draper will officiate. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary and Sunday from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. at Batesville Junior High School Auditorium. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.
Bradford, born Oct. 30, 1966, in Charleston, to Ira Taylor and Jeanette Bradford, was the owner of Boosie Tire and Diesel. He was a truck driver for Lehman Roberts and Framed Picture Enterprise.
He was a Batesville firefighter and a member of Pope Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Brittany Moore of Batesville; his mother, Jeanette Bradford; three sisters, Betty Bradford Suggs, Angela Taylor, both of Batesville and Annie Ruth Taylor of Oakland and six brothers, James Bradford, Bobby “Six 9” Bradford, Ted Taylor and Ira Taylor Jr., all of Batesville, Clifton Taylor of Oakland and Stacy Taylor of Greenwood.
COURTLAND – Tony Selmer Daugherty, 64, died Monday, April 30, 2012, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, at Wells Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends on Friday, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Wells Funeral Home has charge.
Daugherty, born to Selmer and Marlene Pearson Daugherty in Drew on April 13, 1948, worked for Sears as a service technician for 35 years. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Gracie Reese Messer of Savage; two daughters, Gayla Daugherty Cooper of Strayhorn and Toni Marie Daugherty Kitchens of Oxford; his mother, Marlene Pearson Daugherty of Courtland; three sisters, Carolyn Daugherty Peters of Memphis, Kathleen Daugherty Bonner of Courtland and Joan Daugherty Zimmer of Batesville; three brothers, James Daugherty of Courtland, Jimmy Daugherty of Southaven and Gary Daugherty and six grandchildren.
MEMPHIS – Willie Edward Davison, 75, formerly of Sardis, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012.
Services will be held Saturday at noon at Norris Road Church of Christ in Memphis. Visitation will be held Friday from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Norris Road Church of Christ. Burial will be in Forrest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
Davison was self employed as a building contractor and owned his own company.
Survivors include: his wife, Elnora Montgomery Davison of Memphis; three children, Clyde, Sylvia and Ricky Davison of Memphis; five sisters, Margaret Morgan and Barbara Armstrong of Sardis, Stella M. Jones of Memphis, Rosie L. Pride of Detroit, and Willie Johnson of Las Vegas; six brothers, Jimmy, Fred, Larry and Lamar Davison of Sardis, Tommy and Marvin Davison of Detroit.
MODESTO, Calif. – Levi Hankins, 102, formerly of Batesville, died Sunday, April 22, 2012.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Second Concord M.B. Church. Joe N. Bruins will officiate. Burial will be in Second Concord Cemetery. Visitation will be held today from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the church. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.
Hankins, born Dec. 26, 1909, in Grenada, to the late James Hankins and Lillie Willis, was a retired minister and farmer. He was a member of New Bethany Baptist Church in Modesto.
Survivors include: his wife, Irene Hankins of Modesto; two sons, Rodgers Hankins of Batesville and James Hankins of Modesto; five daughters, Bertha Osby of Eau Claire, Mich., Maggie Pearl McAfee, Lacey Deloney, Rachel Anderson, all of Benton Harbor, Mich. and Shirley Pinkins of Valejo, Calif.; 41 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren and 62 great-great-grandchildren.
