After the five players from each team played the nine holes, the top four scorers were added to determine the winner.

Taking first place was Desoto Central with a total score of 171.

Placing second was Bruce with 175, South Panola third with 194 and Olive Branch fourth with 197. Horn Lake only had three players so their score did not count.

Braden Thornberry of Desoto Central was the medalist who shot a 37 on a par 36 nine-hole course.

The day before the tournament South Panola Head Coach D. J. Yount hosted a qualifying round to set the players in their right positions.

Jonathan Middleton came in at the No. 1 spot, Samuel Davis No. 2, Calvin Hawkins No. 3, Kamdon Crofford No. 4 and Hunter Brock No. 5. For the fifth spot there was one point difference between Brock and Ethan Gatlin. Jacob Rogers did not participate due to surgery.

Yount was proud of the team stating, “They did well for their first match because they have to get out all of their jiggers. I’m looking forward to all of our matches with them.”

The team was scheduled to play at Pine Hills in Calhoun City yesterday if weather permitted.
