Fussing siblings sent back to Wisconsin

Judge Bill McKenzie released a Wisconsin brother and sister from jail after sentencing them to the time they had served awaiting trial for domestic violence-simple assault charges. The case was heard in Batesville Municipal Court session  Wednesday.

“We were here for a family vacation,” explained Cyle C. Johnson, 1123 Roosevelt, Beloit, Wis., as he told the judge he and his sister, Catrina Johnson, 1123 Roosevelt, Wis., were charged with domestic violence-simple assault against each other after he threw a CD at her in the parking lot of a local gas station.

Catrina admitted she hit her brother back. They were both given time served and released to go back home to Wisconsin.

Mark Wesley, 1993 King Evans, Greenville, had a bond reduction from $15,000 to $7,500 for possession of controlled substance with intent, possession of a firearm-enhanced penalty. The case was referred to the grand jury.

Norris Wright Jr., 73 Henry Heafner, Batesville, was referred to the grand jury for burglary and grand larceny.

David Turner, 153 Alred, Courtland, paid a cash fine of $204 in full prior to court for public drunk.

Dominique Hamilton, 10283 Curtis Rd., Batesville, entered a not guilty plea to simple assault. A trial was set.

Dmarcus Miles, 7 Main St., Courtland, paid a cash fine of $204 for public drunk prior to court.

McNicko Giles, 206 Arizona, Batesville, entered a not guilty plea to disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and abusing members of the police department. A trial was set for December 21.

Dareane Davis, 425 Spain Dr., Grenada, failed to appear to answer a shoplifting charge. Davis failed to appear last court date also. A-1 Bonds was notified.

Jack Wilkinson, 517 McCain, Batesville, had a shoplifting case set for trial and will be represented by Attorney Kay Bishop Victor.

Sara Daugherty, 307 Willa, Batesville, was fined $1,124 for shoplifting from Wal-Mart and had old fines of $464 that have been due since August 2008. The judge told her to have her fines paid in full within 30 days or serve 90 days in jail..

Lydia Dungan, 202 Bruce St., Batesville, had a case for DUI and possession of alcohol by a minor remanded only if she passes the requirements the prosecuting attorney Bob Morris explained to the judge.

Dungan was assigned to the drug court program for six months. If she is in violation of drug court by failing her once a month alcohol and drug tests her charges will come back.

Undrier Robinson, 215 MLK, Batesville, was sentenced to 90 days in jail after failing to pay old fines of $1,034 that have been due since November 2008.

Keith C. Thompson, 569 Alexzats, Marks, had a trial set for Dec. 14 after entering a not guilty plea to simple possession of controlled substance.

He was fined for no driver’s license and no tag, but said he did have a prescription for the hydrocodone the officers found in his pocket.

Kathryn Burns, 190-B Henry Heafner Rd., Sardis, entered a guilty plea to disorderly conduct-failure to comply. She was fined $624.

Brittany Hutchinson, 190-B Henry Heafner, Sardis, entered the city’s work program for 20 days in lieu of paying $1,124 for shoplifting from Wal-Mart.

Cheryl A. Johnson, 3570 Corsica, Horn Lake, was fined $194 for no proof of insurance.

Samuel D. Bryant Jr., 15082 Hwy. 385 Jr., 10582 Hwy. 315 Batesville, was found not guilty of no proof of insurance after he provided he had insurance at the time the ticket was issued.

Patricia A. Wright, 3468 Brewer Rd., Batesville, was fined $796 for expired tag and no proof of insurance.

Randall Young, 107 MLK Jr. Dr. 8-E, Batesville, was fined $450 for no driver’s license and careless driving.
