 Bobby “Bob” Ray Best, Jr.

Bobby “Bob” Ray Best, Jr. age 46, of Oakland, MS, died  Monday, November 28, 2011.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, December 1 at 2 p.m.  at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with visitation one hour prior to service. Reverend Marty Evans and Reverend Tommy Darby will be officiating. Wells Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Best was born August 27, 1965 in Memphis to the late Bobby Ray Best, Sr and Dyan Melton Best Jenkins of Oakland. He was a country store merchant and a self-employed roofer.

Survivors in addition to his mother, include his wife Paula Turner Best of Oakland; two step-daughters: Amanda Bennett of Meadville, Penn. and Keri Bennett of Coffeeville; one step-son Neal Bennett of Oakland; two sisters Wanda Best Smallwood and Bonita Best Turner, both of Oakland; half-sister Linda Faye Best Greif of Nashville; one brother Stacy Christopher Best of Enid; one step-brother Bobby Joe Dees of Nashville; and three grandchildren.

Glenda Baird Bethea

WATER VALLEY – Glenda Baird Bethea, 72, died November 26, 2011, at her residence.

Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Bethea was born June 28, 1939, in Union City, Tenn. to the late Lucien Blake and Hazel Henderson Baird. She was of the Baptist faith and was a medical transcriptionist for Methodist Health Care Systems.
She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Lewis Bethea.

Survivors include: her husband, Richard L. Bethea of Water Valley; one daughter, Renee’ Bethea Crouch of Water Valley; three sons, Richard Lee Bethea of Bartlett, Tenn., Russell Lynn Bethea of Memphis, Ronald Blake Bethea of Millington, Tenn.; one sister, Peggy Baird Carpenter of Memphis; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

David Michael Hall

Cooper City, Fla. -David Michael Hall, 21, died Sunday, November 27, 2011 at his residence.
He is the nephew of Pam Weaver and Gail Daugherty, both of Batesville.

Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 30 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time on Wednesday at Wells Funeral Home.

David was born in Jacksonville, Fla. on February 13, 1990. He was the son of  Michael Tandy Hall of Memphis and Lisa Ann Glenn Hall Hill of Cooper City, Fla.

In addition to his parents, he is  survived by his stepfather, Bill Hill of Cooper City; his stepmother, Jerri Hall of Memphis; one sister, Emily Jordan Hall Pinkston (Ben) of Olive Branch; grandfather, Robert Edward Hall (Nell) of Dumas; step-grandparents, William and Barbara Hill of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Julie Ann Hall and Bill and Betty Jean Still Glenn of Batesville.

Darlene Ferrell Hubbard

CRENSHAW – Darlene Ferrell Hubbard, 43, died Thursday, November 24, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.

Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Springhill Asa M.B. Church in Courtland.  Pastor Louis Wilson Sr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary and noon – 1 p.m. at Springhill Asa M.B. Church. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.

She was born July 29, 1968 in Sardis to B. Willie Connor Ferrell of Batesville and the late Jessie Ferrell Sr.

Hubbard was a factory worker at Springs Industries and a member of Springhill Asa.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include: her husband, Terry Hubbard of Crenshaw; four sisters, Barbara C. Smith, Vanessa Ferrell, Mary Ferrell, Patricia Ferrell, all of Batesville; four brothers, Curtis Ferrell, Roy Lee Ferrell, Terry Durrell Ferrell, all of Batesville and Jessie Ferrell Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla.

W. J. Littlejohn

OXFORD – W. J. Littlejohn, 61, formerly of Batesville, died Thursday, November 24, 2011 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 1 at 11 a.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Chris Connor will officiate.

Burial will follow in the West Tennessee V. A. Cemetery in Memphis at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cooley’s. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge of arrangements.

Littlejohn, born March 1, 1950 to the late Hudy Handy and Etta Ree Littlejohn Benner, was disabled. He was a member of Mt. Olive and a veteran of the U. S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Rosie M. Littlejohn of Oxford; three daughters, Shamara Littlejohn of Oxford; Angela Evins of Starkville and Ron Juwa Williams of New Albany; three sons, Eric Littlejohn of Oxford; William Litteljohn of Byram and Aundra Littlejohn of Jackson; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
