Canvassing of Panola County ballot boxes continued late Friday afternoon with about 10 boxes remaining. Observers said that the process would probably be discontinued for the day and then completed one day next week. Sheriff Otis Griffin has hired Clarksdale attorney Bill Luckett (left) to represent him in the canvassing. Sheriff-elect Dennis Darby has hired Iuka attorney Richard Bowen (right). The canvassing spawned several unfounded rumors that circulated throughout the county on Friday.
