Members of the Batesville Lions Club are soliciting bands, floats, marching groups, and others who want to participate in the upcoming Batesville Christmas parade.

The date is Tuesday, December 6, according to Jerry Lightsey, longtime director of the parade.

Last year’s parade had about 45 entries, “not counting the fire trucks,” Lightsey said.

The theme for the 2011 parade is “Peace and Joy to All the World.”

Groups who want to participate must register with the Lions Club by calling 563-4689 or 934-3356.

The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. and will follow its traditional route from Watt Street up Broadway and through the Square.
