Seventh grade Tigers win last home game

It was a battle between the Tigers and the Tigers as the Batesville Junior High football teams hosted Charleston Thursday night.
The seventh grade football team defeated Charleston 16-6 in their last home game.
The first score of the game came as Cornelius Lee connected with Eric Kitchens on a five-yard pass. The two point conversion by Kendarius Chapman was good to give Batesville the 8-0 lead.
Akira Harris stripped the ball from a Charleston player forcing a fumble. Chapman recovered and sprinted 30 yards to score. Chapman added the two-point conversion with three seconds left in the first quarter.
Charleston got on the scoreboard with 46 seconds left in the game.
The Tigers will end their season on the road Thursday at Olive Branch.
The BJH eighth grade team shut out Charleston 24-0. Scoring first was Oluwain Hoskins on a two-yard run and he added the two point conversion to give Batesville Tigers an 8-0 lead with 2:18 left in the first quarter.
With 4:23 left in the first half, Jeramio Flowers scored on a 16-yard run. James Ellis added the two-point conversion for the 16-0 Tiger lead.
A few seconds later Charleston fumbled and Joshua Carothers recovered and scored on a 30-yard return. Donald Twilley’s two-point conversion sealed the victory for the Tigers.
