The North Delta fastpitch softball team will advance to the Academy AA State tournament Saturday in Flowood after winning two-of-three games this past Saturday in the North AA tournament at Carroll Academy.

North Delta (17-10) took on the Leake/Canton Academy loser Monday afternoon at 2:45. A victory would put the Lady Wave into the championship game agianst the Leake/ Canton winner.

The Green Wave fell into the losers’ bracket Saturday with a 7-4 loss to Prairie View, La., but rebounded with impressive wins over Central Hinds 10-0 and Marshall 16-1.

Peyton Rico recorded the pitching decision in all three games. Julianna Morrow belted a triple while Anna Lloyd had two hits in the loss to Prairie View.

Laci DuBravec and Lloyd each had two hits each for the Green Wave in the victories over Central Hinds and Marshall. Bradi Beard delivered a double in the win over Marshall.
