The Panola Partnership’s Legislative Day event is September 22. A full day of activities is being planned and organizers are asking participants to call and register for any sessions they plan to attend.
The morning consists of informative sessions for Partnership members, beginning at 9 a.m. at Holiday Inn of Batesville. The first session, “Small Business Tools and Tips,” will be led by a panel, including James Carden of Batesville, director of the University of Mississippi’s Small Business Development Center; John Brandon and Diana O’Toole with the Mississippi Development Authority.
A second session, “Airport Park Taking Flight,” will begin at 10 a.m. and will be led by Partnership CEO Sonny Simmons and Blake Mendrop of the engineering firm Mendrop-Wages. A third session, beginning at 11 a.m., will focus on gubernatorial candidates in the upcoming election.
Lunch at Panola Country Club will be served at 12 noon. Tickets are $10. (Lunch is included in for those who participate in the golf match or skeet shoot.)
Golfers can register as a single for $75 or as a team for $280 for the four-man scramble also at Panola Country Club. A shotgun start will be at 1:30 p.m. Registration for golfers will begin at 12:30 p.m.
The skeet shoot will be at the home of Frank and Lenora West. The fee is $50 and includes lunch at Panola Country Club.
The evening reception at the Holiday Inn will allow guests to mix and mingle with fellow Partnership members, elected officials and business leaders. All members receive two complimentary tickets, but members must RSVP to receive them. Extra tickets are $35.
