Buddy Gray, husband of current South Panola School District trustee Sarah Dale Gray, is the only candidate yet to qualify to run for that seat in the sub-district 4 South Panola School District Board of Trustee election on the November general election ballot according to the Panola County Circuit Clerk’s office.

Qualifying deadline for that position is Friday, September 9 according to Panola County Circuit Clerk’s office. In past elections when only one candidate qualified for a school board post, that person is designated as winner and the name is not put on the ballot.

School board elections are non-partisan and have different qualifying dates and deadlines from partisan elections as no party primary is necessary. One trustee of the five member board runs every year with members serving five-year terms

South Panola sub-district 4 encompasses all of the eastern portion of South Panola School District with a line beginning on Belmont Road at the Tallahatchie River running south on Lawrence Brothers Road towards Enid Lake and stopping near Chickasaw.
