Panola County’s version of The People’s Choice Awards, the Best of the Best contest, starts today.

The ballot special section tabloid is included in today’s edition.

Best of the Best contest, one of the most popular special sections published by The Panolian, lets the public vote for their favorite business, business person or business product and/or service.

Included at the end of the ballot is an information box for the voter to be included in a random drawing for $100 cash.

The winner’s section is scheduled for a September 30 publication where winners are announced. Winners will receive certificates that may be displayed in businesses.

The ballot has 168 categories to choose from and each voter is required to vote in at least 42 of the categories for the votes to count.

Voting starts today and ballots may be mailed in or dropped off at The Panolian, or other drop off areas including Walgreens, Piggly Wiggly and Save-A-Lot.

Deadline to turn in ballots is Tuesday, August 16 at 5 p.m.
