Panola County Circuit Clerk Joe Reid will sponsor sample ballots listing Democrat and Republican candidates in the August 2 party primary elections.

The sample ballots will be published in the July 28 print edition of The Southern Reporter and the July 29 print edition of The Panolian.

“I urge you to step up to the challenge to be responsible United States citizens,” Reid states. “Study the process, study the candidates and study the issues.

“Then by all means, go to the polls on election day and vote,” Reid said.

Reid, who has served as Panola Circuit Clerk since 1992, did not seek re-election. Five candidates are seeking to be selected as his replacement.
