Sean Williams of Pope was the winner in the National Garden Clubs youth poetry contest, it was announced at the organization’s national convention in Washington, D.C. recently. Sean, who was salutatorian of the eighth grade class at Pope School this spring, had entered the competition at the local level in a contest sponsored by the Batesville Garden Club. His poem, “Field of Daffodils,” won the state and regional contests before advancing to the national competition where he won first place.
