Breeze places second in Bash

The 6 and under Batesville Breeze came out of the J. P. Hudson Dizzy Dean Bash as the number two team.

The Southaven All-Stars defeated the Breeze 15-4 in the championship game Saturday afternoon.

Lani Goolsby, Zoey Rippee, Jozsi Caine and Drew Hamby scored the Breeze’s only four runs in the third inning.

The Breeze came from behind to defeat the Hernando Thunder in the semi-finals game 14-13.

Batesville was trailing 13-10 going into the final inning and rallied for four runs to finish with a thrilling victory.

In the first game of the tournament Friday night, the Breeze defeated Senatobia Sugar 12-3.

Against the Southaven All-Stars Saturday morning, the Breeze lost 17-9 in four innings.

Getting the three runs in the first inning were Tristen Berryhill, Layla Davis and Ally Kay Scipper.

Rippee scored the only run in the second inning.

The Breeze was able to get the maximum five runs allowed in the third inning. Scoring were Berryhill, Davis, Scipper, Haleigh Pettit and Lauren Renfroe.

Other team members include Sara Hansen, Gracey Harbour, Ainsley Herron, Hope Stewart, Rebecca Sky Tidwell and Makinley Wilson.
