Letter to the editor

Shopper, daughter appreciate ‘extra’ service

“Thanks to you, young man, your mother would be proud….”

My 87 year-old somewhat feeble, but very independent mother was shopping at Piggly Wiggly last week. Her shoe had come untied but she had not noticed it. An observant man or “bag boy” as Mama calls them, saw it and came over, knelt down and tied her shoe.

Mama worked in a grocery store for over 20 years. She has commented many times since moving to Batesville on how nice and well mannered the young people are that work there. I want to thank you, young man, whoever you are. Also I want to commend the management of Piggly Wiggly for the high standards you require of your employees. You are doing these young men a favor.
