North Delta honored winter and spring sports athletes at a banquet last Tuesday night.
Junior high basketball girls were honored first.
Erin Snyder was named the team’s most valuable player.
Recognized as the most improved players were Jordan Pullen and Peyton Rico. Courtney DuBravec received the 6th-man award.
The heart of a champion recipient this year went to Claire Gant while Callie Blake Masterson received the hustle award.
Julianna Morrow was named the playmaker of the year. Hastings Neal was named best offensive player.
In junior high boys basketball, the best defensive player was Ridge Simmerman, who also won the hustle award.
Best offensive player was Bailey Sullivant.
Tyler Beard received the three-pointer award. Sam Copeland received the best rebounder award. Receiving 6th-man awards were Hunter Baker and Andy Linder.
In varsity girls basketball, Bradi Beard was named the team’s MVP. Beard was also named All-District and to the All-District tournament team.
In addition to Beard being named All-District, Laci DuBravec received All-District honors. Honorable mentions were Hanna Greenlee, Madison Greenlee and Katelyn Still.
The 6th-man award went to Charla Shea Darby. Hanna Greenlee received the best rebounder award while Laci DuBravec was named the best offensive player.
Head coach Phil Douglas was chosen District Coach of the Year.
In varsity boys basketball, Derrick Shawn and Bryan Nickle were named to the All-District team and played in the All-Star game.
Jim Tom Copeland was also chosen an All-Star but did not get to play in the game.
Nickle was chosen the team’s MVP and best offensive player.
Shawn also received the hustle award. Copeland received the top rebounder award.
This year’s recipient of the Michael Johnson award was John Cody Dalrymple.
Junior high baseball recognized Skylar Lawson as the most valuable pitcher and Andy Linder as the most valuable hitter.
The Golden Glove award went to Ridge Simmerman while Parker Jones received the leadership award.
Named to the All-District team in varsity baseball were Ethan Waldrip, Jim Tom Copeland, John Cody Dalrymple and Austin Gant. Honorable mention All-District were Michael Magee, Luke Latham and Derrick Shawn.
Waldrip and Copeland received best pitching awards. Dalrymple received the highest batting average award.
Honored for having most steals was Bailey Guckert. The most improved honor went to Walker Robison.
Tennis recognized north state winners Jordan Pointer, girls singles; Maggie Williams and Bryan Nickle, mixed doubles; Bradi Beard and Hanna Greenlee, Madison Greenlee and Sarah Glenn Burkhalter, ladies doubles.
Receiving recognition in track junior high girls was Hastings Neal; junior high boys Parker Jones; and varsity boys Will Reynolds.
