The Lady Tigers had 16 hits, 13 earned runs, left six on base and three errors. Fullilove threw 63 pitches and fanned 11 batters.

South Panola scored three runs in the first inning, four in the second, five in the third and four in the fourth.

Scoring for the Lady Tigers were Tory Helton, triple, four runs, four RBIs (runs batted in); Christa Brown, three runs and one RBI; Amanda Ivy, triple, two runs, two RBIs; Diamond Browning, double, two runs; and Fullilove two runs, one RBI; Caroline Dickens, one run; Lindsey Calvert, one run, two RBIs; and Lauren Calvert, one run, four RBIs.

Head Coach Ashleigh Hicks said, “The Starkville game was the beginning of our district play and I think we played very well. We hit and Nicole pitched very well. She controlled the game pitching a no-hitter.”

Three nights before the Starkville game, it was a different story for the Lady Tigers as they were shut out 8-0 by Lake Cormorant in non-district action. South Panola had three hits, six errors and left six on base.

Lindsey Calvert hit a double in the game. Getting other hits were Lauren Calvert and Helton.

Lake Cormorant got five earned runs, nine hits, left 11 on base and had two errors. In the top of the first inning they got back-to-back home runs scoring three in the first. They added two in the third and three in the fifth.

“We didn’t show up in the game with Lake Cormorant,” Hicks said. “When you play good teams you have to bring your “A” game and we didn’t. They’re a very good team.”

The Lady Tigers will be on the road tonight for a district game in Tupelo at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. and will be back at home Friday hosting Starkville in district action at 5 and 6 p.m.
