Family pet believed abducted, reward offered

On Sunday night, March  13th shortly after midnight a car stopped and idled in front of our house on 1058 Good Hope Road for several minutes. Our three dogs approached the front barking as they usually do when a car is there.

All at once the car motor was “gunned” at high speed, squealing tires speeding north towards Highway 6. Because cars stop in front of our home frequently for a few minutes due to an intersection, we did not get up to check.

Later we realized that “Kip” our black lab/mixed breed dog who has a white spot on his chest and is approximately one year old,  had been abducted.

Kip’s back left leg was amputated at the hip several weeks ago due to a car accident. Because his body was weakened by the amputation, Kip was able to move only a short distance. At night he always stayed close to the house in the yard.

We have looked and called throughout our community for Kip..all in vain. We are experiencing that same sick feeling that others who have had their pets taken have felt.

We are offering a reward, as advertised in the classifieds of The Panolian, for knowledge of Kip’s whereabouts (dead or alive) or for his return to our family. We ask for the help of others in locating this pet. He has not regained full strength and would  not be able to return to home on his own. Neither could he withstand a fight.

Please let us know if you have any information that would help us. Our numbers are 561-2456, 934-0687 and 563-9250.

Sincerely,

Harold “Pee Wee” and Martha Lynn Johnson
