Andrew Aiken

COMO–Andrew Aiken, 54, died Friday, November 12, 2010, at Baptist East Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hammond Hill M.B. Church in Senatobia. Burial will be in Hammond Hill M.B. Church in Senatobia. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home has charge.

He was employed by Walmart as a stocker. He was a member of Hammond Hill M.B. Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Linda Aiken; two daughters, Andrea Lynn Walls and Lena Henery Aiken, both of Como; one son, Jameel R. Walls of Como; his mother, Lizzie Glover of Como; three sisters, Yvonne Rodgers of Senatobia, Betty Barnes and Marie Backer, both of Batesville; four brothers, James Glover, Terry Glover, both of Memphis, William Glover of Senatobia and Michael Glover of Como.

James Vernon Golden

CROWDER–James Vernon Golden, 83, died Thursday, November 11, 2010.

Services were Saturday at Faith Baptist Church in Lambert. Burial was in Lambert Cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.

Golden was the son of the late U.V. Golden and Adam Washington Golden.

He was preceded in death by his son, J.C. Golden.

Survivors include: his wife, Shirley Golden of Crowder; three daughters, Betty Golden Jenkins of Crowder, Laura Dvorak of Lambert and Ruby Holmes of Russville, Tenn.; two sons, Christopher Golden of Crowder and Billy Golden of Randallman, N.C.;  three sisters, Lorene Morgan of Marks, Peggy Clemer and Irene Smith, of Lambert; four brothers, Floyd Golden of Sledge, John Golden of Marks, Gene Golden of Crowder, Jr. Golden of Coffeeville and C.W. Pruitt of Ripley;14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Garland Lewis McCoy

OXFORD–Garland Lewis McCoy, 82, died Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at Mississippi State Veteran’s Affairs Home in Oxford. He was the father of Lisa McCoy Smith of Courtland, Keith McCoy and Jerry McCoy, both of Batesville and Richard McCoy of Taylor.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church. Rev. David Ard will officiate. Visitation will be held today from 10 a.m. until services at the church. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery. Waller Funeral home in Oxford has charge.

McCoy born in Lafayette County, served as a sergeant in the United States Air Force where he was an airplane master mechanic. He was retired from Poloron.

Survivors along with his daughter and sons include: one sister, Geneva Maples of  Oxford; two brothers, Troy McCoy of Oxford and Johnny McCoy of Oxford; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church or Shiloh Cemetery Fund, 31 CR 429, Oxford, Miss. 38655.

Jerry B. “J.B.” Orr

COMO– Jerry B. “J.B.” Orr, 86, died Friday, November 12, 2010, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

Services will be held Saturday, November 20, at Mt. Level M.B. Church in Como with interment at church cemetery.  Felix Cauthen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include six daughters, Robirda Gross of Sardis, Earlene Stokes of Chicago, Ill., Armo Orr and Gwendolyn Johnson, both of Memphis, and Josephine Burton and Ruby Wooten, both of Como; six sons, Mack Orr of Memphis, David Orr of Como, Jerry Hemingway of Germantown, Gabenal Hemingway of Atlanta, Ga. and Jimmy Orr and Robert Orr, both of Chicago, Ill.; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Calvin Stokes

CRENSHAW– Calvin Stokes, 42, died Friday, November 12, at his residence.

Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Crenshaw. Visitation will be held Friday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Burial will be in Longtown Cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.

Stokes, born Sept. 3, 1968, in Como, to the late Flynn Stokes and Velma Holliday, was a member of Pleasant Grove M.B. Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Fannie Stokes of Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter, Calvisha Stokes of Kansas City, Mo.; four sisters, Shirley Jeffries, Gloria Kelson and Louis Stokes, all of Crenshaw and Pauline Hobbs of St. Louis, Mo. and three brothers, James Stokes and Elijah Stokes, both of Crenshaw and Flynn Stokes Jr. of Independence, Ky.

Frances Pauline Gordon Terry

CROWDER– Frances Pauline Gordon Terry, 74, died Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at her residence.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Kimbro Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crowder Cemetery. Rev. Mike Hankins will officiate. Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks has charge.

Terry, born July 25, 1936, in Water Valley, was a member of Assembly of God and a retired inspector for Thermos.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A.Z. “Jinks” Terry.

Survivors include: two sons, Charles Ray Terry of Crowder and Gerry Austin Terry of Batesville; one daughter, Brenda Joyce Frederick of Crowder; two sisters, Christine Yarbro of Osceola, Ark. and Joann Hensly of Water Valley; two brothers, Milton Myles of Batesville and Eddie Gordon of Water Valley; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
